Sheriff Joe Chapman of the
Walton County Sheriff s Office announced today that the
Walton County Sheriffs Office firing range will be open to
the public on the last Saturday of each month. The range is located behind the Sheriff s Office
at 1425 South Madison Avenue in Monroe, and can be accessed
on Saturdays by entering the public works compound through
the gate at the Walton County Animal Control office, and
following the dirt road through public works, around the
pond, and down to the range.
“Public Range for the
month of May will be held May 18th due to the
Memorial Day Holiday”
.
Hours of
operation on Saturdays will be from 9:00AM until 4:00PM.
There will be no charge - targets and target backers will be
furnished but shooters must supply their own guns and
ammunition. Shooters will be required to sign a waiver of
liability and must abide by all safety rules.
