The following is a list of Tentative Training Classes, dates and times for the remainder of the year.  The classes that are marked as mandatory require all sworn personnel to attend.  Please read carefully!  There may be additional classes added during the year as needed.

 
August 17th and 19th: 0800 and 1300

September 14th and 16th: 0800 and 1300 (2 hours)

October 11th – 15th, and 18th – 22nd: (4 hours)
Description Firing Range - Firearms Re-qualification / Use of Force
Back up gun qualification

Each officer must supply ammunition for back up gun – qualification course requires 20 rounds. Please sign up on sign up sheets outside of Training Office.

(Deputies needing to re-certify must attend the last 2 hours of the class beginning at 1500)

The training division of the Walton County Sheriff's Office is responsible for assuring that training is conducted in accordance with the Peace Officers Standards and Training of Georgia and the standards of the Sheriff in order to properly serve the citizens of Walton County.  Georgia law enforcement officers must maintain a specific level of training per year as per the Official Code of Georgia Annotated 35-8-21.
