Animal Control
Animal Control’s mission is to protect the public's safety from stray, dangerous or diseased animals and to protect the animals of Walton County from inhumane treatment by timely and effective enforcement of the County's animal control ordinances. It is also the goal of Animal Control to re-home the maximum number of adoptable animals that come into the shelter’s care.

Finance
The staff of the Finance Department have primary responsibility for all County financial matters, including financial reporting, budget preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee benefit trust funds, cash management, debt service, capital asset accounting, grant administration, and regulatory compliance.

The Planning and Development department aims to guide and regulate the orderly growth, development, redevelopment and preservation of Walton County in accordance with a well-considered comprehensive plan and with long-term objectives, principles and standards deemed beneficial to the interest and welfare of the people.

Walton County has a Stormwater Management Program that consists of Best Management Practices (BMPs) we have to perform in order to meet the requirements of the NPDES Permit issued to us.

Tax Assessors
The Walton County Board of Tax Assessors is appointed for fixed terms by the Walton County Board of Commissioners. The County Board of Tax Assessors is responsible for determining taxability, value, and equalization of all assessments within the county.
