Animal Surrenders

Surrendered Animals

Walton County Animal Control accepts surrendered dogs and cats from Walton County residents only. Surrenderer must be 18 years old and provide photo identification verifying Walton County residence (i.e. current driver’s license). No exceptions other than animals adopted from out-of-county residents may be returned within 30 days of adoption. Past 30 days the pet must be surrendered to the shelter in the county where the adopter resides. Animal Control does not pick up owner surrendered pets; owners must bring them to the shelter to complete the proper paperwork.
