The Administration Division encompasses support staff, records, warrants, quarter master, recruiting, and the training division. Administration is also responsible for GCIC/NCIC queries.

OPEN RECORDS REQUEST

Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Law, (OCGA 50-18-70 et. Seq.), the Walton County Sheriff's Office will make available for review and copying all files, records and other documents not prohibited by specific statutory exemptions. All request will be responded to within three business days.

  • Fee Schedule:

    • Audio Files: $10

    • Case Files: $.10 per page

    • DVD's: $20

    • Reports: $3

    Research and compilation of materials are billed at $10 per hour after the first 15 minutes.

  • In order to request documents under the Open Records Act, please email Sergeant Lora Stamey lstamey@co.walton.ga.us or Kirstin Stovall kirstin.stovall@co.walton.ga.us.

    Due to the large number of requests, email requests are preferred.  

    Requests may also be made in person at the Sheriff's Office lobby or by fax 770-267-1440.

    Please remember to include specific details regarding your request. Names, dates, times and case numbers will help us complete your request in a timely manner.

  • O.C.G.A. 35-3-37 provides for the restriction of certain criminal history records for non-criminal justice purposes when approved by the prosecuting attorney.

    The Sheriff's Office requires a $25 non-refundable fee to process record restriction requests. In addition, the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) requires an additional $25 non-refundable fee per arrest approved for restriction.
